While Centralised Image Processing (CIP) or Remote Screening is widely known and a common approach for Hold Baggage, it has not yet been applied equally for cabin baggage. However, more airports are considering and implementing the remote screening of cabin bags as a component of future planning and security process improvements. These concepts are explained in terms of the broader concept of Open Architecture.
